The International Day of the African Child which is marked on 16th June every year was celebrated at Denyase M/A JHS on Wednesday June 21, 2017. The theme for the 2017 International Day of the African Child was “Accelerating protection, empowerment and equal opportunities for children in Africa by 2030.
Mad. Aba Oppong advised the pupils to be obedient to their teachers and those in authority, be discipline and stop intimidating each other, show respect to the elderly and peers and have confidence.
She cautioned the young girls to avoid child marriages, teenage pregnancy and unhealthy relationship with boys and men. Also they should be equally disciplined, courageous and have a vision and plan.She also advised parents to stop sending the children on errands during school hours.
In the closing remarks, the Chairman of the CCPC in Denyase advised the pupils to learn hard. He added that if they face any challenge, they should report it to the committee. Aunte Nyarko, a CCPC member encouraged the pupils to behave well at all times.
Mad. Aba Oppong, Board Chair of RRIG led in donating 100 pieces of exercise books to the school on behalf of RRIG to facilitate teaching and learning.
